    Change of plans again......

We are staying put and I am keeping the garage for the layout. now I can't plan what I want for the layout but I do want to make a Rail Yard. In HO Scale I have about 10-13 feet to use Iabotu 2 - 2.5 feet wide. I 'm just not sure how to lay it out. Thinking of a main line and a passing track. Plannig to do an intermodal layout over all, just haven't figure out the layout yet so I want to start somewhere.

Pher, If thats the size for the yard you should Have no problem. My Portage yard is going to be 14' by 2' and a double track main. I would suggest a double ended yard instead of a stub end yard. This way trains can move through on and off the main. There used to be a drawing of it on Rail Images but I don't know if it is still there.

Thanks, that;s what I'm more after pictures and/or a layout design so I know what I'm doing so I have realistic operations.

I have done a prelimary design in RTS I know the yard needs work, but basically it's what I came up with. The outer track will be rasied, I need to make a connection to the lower track. Also where the upper track comes out of the yard on the left side and looks to connect to the outer track, that will be underneath the upper track. the siding in the middle will be a 30" X 48" penisula, not sure what I want todo there yet. either a town with a trolly or an industry. Again this is HO scale, in a garage.
