i am getting ready to bash some yard towers for my new and i need some good pics of different ones out ther. please post some pics here and thanks in advance. ps. i don't need signal or junction towers, also this is for a modern yard. thanks alot, mitch.
Here is a photo of the tower in the Avondale, LA yard. Avondale yard is located at the west end of the Huey P. Long bridge across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. Avondale was part of the SP Sunset Route, but was transferred to BNSF as part of the UP/SP merger.
An additional piece of interest ... the engine repair facility was directly behind me when I took the tower photo. It's interesting to note that whereas the tower appears to be a well-cared-for modern structure, the repair facility appears quite old and in need of a lot of TLC!
