an easy, interesting RI prototype or two Joe, The existing MT caboose body has a cool rock island prototype. The rock got some cabeese from the Lehigh Valley (era?) and numbered them as 17604 and 17605. The MT caboose is nearly identical except for round windows on the ends, side window arches and a slight roof-walk overhang. None the less, a Rock Island caboose in this scheme would be really 'easy' with the existing MT caboose as it is. Here's some pictures at http://www.rits.org/www/equipment/caboose/caboosepix.html Scroll down and click on the links for 17604 and 17605 (which are actually at the right hand side of the descriptions) While you're at it, an RI F7 A&B in maroon with white pin stripes would be pretty cool as well RockIsl.com And if you're still at it ... how about a microtrack 13degree crossing to match the existing turnout. Thanks for asking, Mike
I would like to see, double slip switches and 90 degree crossing tracks, just more variety of switch tracks (electric of course) rather then just the righy lefty turn outs. We def need more track, and switches without roadbed would be cool as well. Brown ties so I don't have to paint all my track and rust rails.
My major request would be left/right stright turnouts without roadbed, compatible to be used with the flextrack, with underside turnoutmotor/coils or the possibility to use your own under the layout turnoutmotor. It could also be possible to click on the motor on the top, if preferred.
NKP runner packs How about a runner pack of Nickel Plate Road 50ft gondolas with Dolomite containers? This will give your resin casters something to do as well! This is certainly a different type of load for a gondola
Kevin, I don't have the gondolas, but Stony Smith has a line of Shapeway products and has come through with the containers. Take a peek........... Dolomite Container - Z Scale by stonysmith on Shapeways
ALCO F UNIT on GP mechanism? it seems like an alco fa (and fb) would fit on the gp35 chassis. the prototypes are only a few feet off. good roi on the gp chassis!
I'll stick to my requests from previous years: 1.SW1500 or MP15 2.a coil car(round or angled hoods) 3.an ore car; BNSF style. 4.modern reefer car And one new request, American style pick up trucks.
