    Greetings,

I am modeling the NYC in N scale, and want to get the right cars for the right era. I am modeling somewhere around 1945 - 1954. I believe that the Pacemaker ran in this time era, but what about the Early Bird?

What others should I be looking at?

    Thanks

    Craig

Craig, I have a company photo by Ed Nowak showing a Mohawk with a full train of Pacemaker box cars, taken in April 1946, so that would fit in your plans. I'm not sure about the Early Bird, but I know Larry Baggerley can tell you.

Without doing an exhaustive search, the earliest date I could find for the Early Bird Service box cars was June 1957. That was when Despatch Shops built a large number of cars (like lot 862B) for auto parts service and they came with the Early Bird logo.
Maybe some one else has a more complete story and can add to this.
