Visited this train show on saturday. This was the first layout which caught my eye. There are some N scale tracks (and trains) but the cityscape is the main attraction!
This unusual locomotive just had to be photographed! Details on the card. Apparently it was a genuine full size "kitbash" for a short shop switcher
No Paul, exhibiting is too much like hard work these days (not as young as I was) Done a lot of it in the past, including exhibition manager a couple of times. Mostly ran club layouts, sometimes my own, or had a trade stand. These days I prefer to take a train ride and just go look at the layouts
Thanks for the pics. I couldn't get there this year - blocked drains and flood in the railway room. Jon
Mike, this was my first visit to the York show, and although it was quite a big show, I and my fellow visitors felt that there was not enough variety in the layouts - no modern image anywhere! Another negative point is the multiple levels, must be very difficult for access by disabled visitors as there are LOTS of stairs! The aisles are also narrow on the mazzanine floors making it very crowded. On the plus side there were a lot of trade stands selling parts, fittings, scenery items, scratchbuilding supplies, tools, etc.
