    Now here the view was not so clear. Some die hards were still out there. I ducked inside the car when my eyes could not handle it any more.

    Yep! It was in Cheyenne before the Portland UP 3985 trip, and went back to Portola on that train. Maybe the Steam Crew was fixing it up, or borrowing it from Portola.
