I am curious! Since last year when I made a few Mi-Jack Translift cranes, I have had several fellow Z scalers that missed out on the offering and have asked if I will make them again. Out of curiosity, how many people here would like to see me make another set of cast resin/etched brass Mi-Jack Translift Container Cranes? (RTR awaiting completion) (Special Mi-Jack made with working Spotlights for night operations) (Intermodal Scene with unfinished Mi-Jack) If you place your vote to this request, please let me know if you'd prefer a kit or a RTR (ready-to-run). Look forward to your replies! Hobo Tim
Tim, I'm not interested in these but I would be interested in your coal loading facilities if you'd ever decide to make them available again. Joe
Tim, I got one beofre, but may want more when I get around to working on my intermodal yard. I'm guessing Bryan would be in a similar situation. Put me down as a maybe, if you end up being close and need a few more orders. If you ever decide to do the grain elevators or coal loaders, I would be interested in those as well. Randy
Compiling a Wants List I have this Mi-Jack message running in 3 of the 4 known Z scale forums. Z Central Station, Z_Intermodal Yahoo group, and here, on the Trainboard. I do not post to the Z_Scale Yahoo group anymore for I am not a member. -------------------------- I have been getting several positive messages from members on all of the forums. What I would like to do now is compile a list, by name and email address, of the members who definitely would like for me to make another run of the Mi-Jack Translift Crane. Compiled List: Please, if you are serious in wanting a Mi-Jack as shown in the photos above, please send me an email with your full name and whether you would like a RTR Mi-Jack or a RTR Mi-Jack w/Lighting. I have not gotten any replies for an assembled/undecorated Mi-Jack so those will not be in the equation any more. Please send me an email at; sgt_tim1@yahoo.com Tell me your name and what version of Mi-Jack you would like. Give this request about one more week and I will make a final decision to make them. Right now, if all is correct, I have a mix of RTR and Lighted at about 9 total. If you have any questions please send me an email! Thank you! Hobo Tim
Mi-Jack Castings! Hello Everyone!!! It has been quite a few weeks since I first took up the idea of making Z scale Mi-Jacks again. Since that time I have had other more pressing items to work on, but I have been casting part time. What you see in the photo below is a mass of all the castings I have accumilated to date. I am a little over half finished with what I need to fill all orders. I will soon start cleaning all of the castings and start etching the brass to go with them. Will post more photos soon! I have had a few people send prepayments for their Mi-Jack's. I appreciate it greatly! Thanks! Stay Posted for future updates! Hobo Tim
Looking good Tim. Thanks for the update. I think I can see my name on a couple of those? LOL Keep us posted..especially photos as they really get the old heart pumping with excitment! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: Thanks again.
Damn Wrenches in the Gearworks Hello all!!! Sorry about the delay. Progress is moving slower than anticipated. Have an update. Castings are finished and slowly being cleaned for assembly. Half of the brass is exposed and will be etched by end of next week. Will start to assemble the RTR Non-Lighted Mi-Jacks soon. Again, sorry about the delays!!! Just wanted to let everyone know I have not forgotten about you!!!! Thanks for your patience and support!!! Hobo Tim
Progress Update!! Hotlanta is just that!!!!! I need an AC in my garage. Today I airbrushed lot #1 of Mi-Jack's. It was over a hundred even with two fans running. Ugh!!!! Had to have the garage door open for the paint fumes!!! Double Ugh!!! Anyways, here are a few photos of progress of the Non-Lighted Mi-Jack's!!!! Assembly of all parts is done using Super Glue liquid and gel. Casting-to-casting or casting-to-brass. Assembly in progress! Assembly complete and airbrushing complete. Next is decals and flat clear coat. These will soon be leaving via the USPS to locations all over the world! No Kidding! I will take some photos of these babies upon completion of all work. Will be decaled in BNSF, Union Pacific and just plain Mi-Jack's!!! More to come! Hobo Tim
Another Update!! The Non-Lighted Mi-Jack's are almost finished. So far I have made new molds, some more than once and twice. Cast nearly 250 parts Cleaned them Prepped brass exposed brass to UV etched brass cut & bent brass (17 bends each) assembled Mi-jack's (11 cast parts each) attached brass brass parts (13 each) airbrush primer white airbrush BNSF orange (4) airbrush yellow (7) Detail each with black, silver & gray paint touch-up detail where necessary attach decals and roadnames per request and now all I have left to do is apply a flat clear coat and these Non-Lighted Mi-Jack's will be finished. They will be packaged later today and mailed tomorrow via USPS Priority Mail. Here is a photo of each paint scheme so far! BNSF Union Pacific and typical Mi-Jack paint scheme I will start the assembly of the Lighted Mi-Jack's as soon as these are all out the door. Please have patience!! The following paint schemes have been requested for the Lighted Mi-Jack's, Union Pacific, Norfolk Southern, CSX, and the typical Mi-Jack. More progress to come! Hobo Tim
Looking real nice there Tim. I regret not having joined the community in time to add my name to the mailing roster for one of these. Well maybe next time if the there is a next time. Looking forward to seeing the lighted ones in the NS and CSX schemes.
Mi-Jack Update I have nearly finished all projects. I feel like a heavy weight has been lifted from me. The biggest and best is next to finish, the Lighted Mi-Jacks. I now have all of the electronic parts and cast resin parts assembled. This coming week is devoted to Mi-Jacks 100%. Crossing fingers the entire lot will be completed by this time next week! I do apologiZe for the delay. On another Mi-Jack note! I have never been able to locate a fellow Z scalers named "Peter K." Peter K. requested one non-lighted Mi-Jack. WHen I finished building the lot of non-lighted Mi-Jack's I tried to find Peter K's contact info. No luck!! Who is Peter K? With that said, I still have one (1) non-lighted Mi-Jack Translift Crane that is awaiting a new home. I'll give Peter K. 24 hours to claim it. It has not been paid for yet so it will be up for grabs. If you missed out on the Mi-Jack offer and would like one the price is $150.00 which includes shipping to anywhere in the World. I'm taking requests now. You also have the option of having BNSF, NS, UP, CSX or plain Mi-Jack decaling. Your choice. If you want it, let me know who you are. First come gets it! Here is a photo of a plain decaled Mi-Jack. Hobo Tim
Peter K. Has Been Found!! Peter K. has been found. Located him yesterday and just finished contacting him. The Mi-Jack is headed his way. If Z Intermodal continues to grow, I hope sometime in the future to release more MiJack's. Keep your eyes and ears posted!!! Hobo Tim
