Tony, What brand of craft cutter/plotter do you have and what program did you use to produce your building? John Bartolotto
bull in china store syndrom... ive broken atleast 1 pin on all of my kato maxi-iv's. Simple fix as to remove the old coupling pin, drill a hole, insert some brass, check alignment and ca it all in place. should be unnoticeable after some paint. runs good at home, but i need to get them on a ntrak layout to see how they will work at a show. closeup of stco+modified coupled
I use CorelDraw for drawing and the vinyl cutter is a Roland Stika, desktop model. I'm in the process of redrawing the building. It was about 5% under scale. A buddy stopped by and took a few key measurements for me the other day.
Finally, some of the pile of chopped strip styrene is starting to form a structure. Just started the angle bracing of the legs. This section of the platform is a foot long, if the styrene holds out, the platform will be three feet long.
Thanks Otto. Milwaukee cars are such a challenge because so many of them were built in their own shops and were pretty distinctive. The ribbing on the car ends and roof is especially challenging.
I just finished this GP39E, now I'm going to start BNSF 2754, the Swoosh version... and I'm striping down some gondolas to make more of the SCXY patches as seen in this picture too.
This time of year, my layout IS my workbench, so I suppose this counts I've been finishing up turning this: into this: I still need some road patchwork, and more details.. but it's getting there.
Working on lights for a cab car for NJT commuter train. Its a resin kit from Island Modelworks. It will have dual headlights in push mode and dual red marker lights for pulling. Using a TCS FL4 decoder.
No pic yet, not far enough along but: A UP SD59M-2 conversion of an SD60M/SD70M. Can't get the luvers on the radiator section to look right but teh radiator as a whole doesn't look too bad. Started on the equipment cabinet behind the cab. An ATSF/GN "Big Dome" that started life as a Auto-Train unit but will be AMTRAK PhIV. Finally got around to stripping the paint this weekend. I will probably need a couple more later on. One for the ATSF San Francisco Chief and one for a BNSF business train.
Latest passenger car project. Just finished adding all the grab irons and steps to this B60b. Hope to get it painted this week for my Milwaukee Road Fast Mail train.
this elevator was demolished in my hometown along with 4 others in a 1 mile stretch. they are going to part of my new ntrak modules.
