Just got my Duel truck in the mail. Pretty unbelievable. Only problem is it makes most of my other vehicles look like cr*p ...;( Regards, Otto K.
"pre-orders", I think. This is the way of the train world today. There was plenty of notice so there was time to put aside the money for them, though we weren't necessarily aware of just how detailed these could be (but it's still by Trainworx ...). Just wait for another run.
There were no pre-orders for the first release, and there was real concern that too many trucks had been made and they would not sell out. Obviously that was not the case. For future releases you can reserve the number you want at a discounted price, and be sure of getting them. If you are hoping for closeout prices like we have seen in the past with Classic Metal Works vehicles, that is very unlikely to happen again, at least not to the extent the models are money losers for the manufacturer. The owner of CMW has told me that being stuck with excess inventory was disastrous for their bottom line. All future releases from CMW, just like everyone else, will be based on pre-orders. These companies need to make enough money to stay in business, and N scale vehicles present them with a very limited market! Many modelers do not buy the vehicles until they have purchased all of the other items they want/need. Carter
The problem with CMW is they firmly believe that everyone models transition era, so they only produce vehicles from the 40's and 50's . Most of the N scale layouts I have seen have been 60-90s diesel era. If CMW made trucks from the 60's & 70's I might buy more.
First of all Thanks Pat as always you trucks are first rate. I believe if CMW made 60 to 90's they would sell more. Because look around there are no more athearn c60's, atlas fords, or athearn macks around except on ebay. I'm just saying I model 1969 and you can only have so many transistion vehicles on your layout. I have been saving up since pat first told me about this new venture so I will purchase several. To keep them coming we need to support this manufacture. His creations were only in our dreams a couple of years ago so if we support him who knows where we could end up.
Got mine today, one of each. I have to say, I have never been more excited over a new model than these. They are just fabulous. Eagerly awaiting the other new models. Especially the dump trucks and the 53' trailers. I'll get a couple of the cattle trailers with tractors but really want the big long semis. Pat, don't gage the consumer demand on the new cattle trailers, cause I don't think there are very many of us who want a dozen. Now, when you come out with the 53 footers, that will be a different story. You will be able to sell all you can produce of them. I need about 20 all white tractors, 20 all red tractors, 20 dump tractors, and dozens of 53' trailers. Thanks for such a great product. Glenn
Good Lord! http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRAINWORX-Smokey-The-Bandit-Tractor-Trailer/400952253340?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=32474&meid=19b51871999e4e9daedf01d288f8a78d&pid=100005&rk=1&rkt=6&sd=201378725680&rt=nc And this Scalper Jacked his price up another $25 (it used to be $74.99) http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-Scale-Tra...680?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ee31b7f30
This is the first I have seen upclose and detailed photos of the models. All I can say is WOW! This model fills a HUGE void in the N scale truck models. I just hope that Trainworx decides to release future models in basic truck configurtions. I for one would like to see some W900 day cabs done in basic fleet white. And maybe also a W900L version as well. There is one small flaw that I can see with the Trainworx W900 model. It is missing the signature KW swoosh on top of the hood that was predominate and a key signature identification mark of the "A" model KWs. But it is not such a big deal that I would refuse to purchase the model because of it. Best Regards Ryan
I got several of this run and they are by far the nicest trucks ever done in N Scale and he has more great trucks coming. There were only 200 of each movie/tv truck done, and they all sold out quickly, which is why the price is going so high on them. If you went to the convention, you could have seen all the great trucks and products he has coming. Very exciting stuff.
