This is great. brick and stone storefronts were such a major feature of near west suburban Chicago in the 70s-80s and eve now, and you never see models of this kind of structure.

I visit a British model railroad forum: Model Rail Forum -> On My Layout (hopefully this link works) The modellers on this site often use printed card stock structures. In the past I have even come across web sites about military models built from card stock. You might enjoy poking around the various layout threads there for structure ideas.
