Hi An A-B-A set of Black Marias was built to field test the 241 prime mover. Alco eventually went with the unproven 244, and there is still debate today as to which was the better design. Cheers Steve NZ
a number of things are occupying my time for the last few weeks...all having to do with getting some T-Trak modules up to some kind of 'snuff' for next week's show... First, grabbing all the new modules and getting the fascia painted, along with the skyboards... then a few trees (built form some 'old-school' WS metal armatures and stretch foliage with extra leak material for contrast) I won't have time to add all the rest of the details before the show (road signs, guardrails, billboards, cornfields, etc), but I want to have some ground cover on them to avoid the plywood plains look. Bruce
I also added basic scenery to the two modules flanking the Hutton Grain elevator module... I'm really liking how the elevator module is turning out... it captures (to my eye) the feel of the complex that inspired me to build this one... a few more shots .... Bruce
Actually what is on my work bench is in fact on the test loop, a B'mann heavy 4-8-2 with Vandy tender lettered for Baltimore and Ohio which I am evaluating whether to have the factory decoder replaced with a dcc decoder with sound.
Go for it Roger. Actually its easy to do and you should try it. The instructions are in the original box. Have fun with it..... Shades
Hi Finally completed a project. Here's the Black Maria parked outside the engine house at Morristown, doubt it ever toured there in real life! Cheers Steve NZ
Little project I've been working on. Doing up the Veteran's unit also. Decaling is taking quite the time.
Thanks guys, but most of the credit should go to our European friend Zsolt Kemeny who produced the shell, I just detailed and painted it. His work is very good and so much better than all but the best 3D work. Cheers Steve NZ
did a little bit more scenery on the team track...I wanted to replicate the overgrown aspect of the team track compared to the mainlines
neither.... this scene is produced by Woodland Scenics with a specific title...but the nameplate I'm having printed for this module is titled "Gotta Go, Gotta go"... hard to see in the two views...the Mother is standing there, holding her skirt out, on either side, to shield oncoming driver's view....
