AFAIK, the 1:1 Relays are energized until a Short occurs through the presence of an axle. As current is flowing through the axle, the relay drops....
If you are using MicroTrains couplers (#1015) then the coupler shank is too short. You should use the longer shank (#1016). That solved it for me....
