Thought I would share this, engine set is capable of pulling 175 cars. Custom home made enjoy! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Nice. The camera placement makes it quite a treat. Although did you notice the covered hopper trying to fall over?
Yea lol suprisingly it made it to the 2% grade and had to be removed and replaced.lol Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
The camera angle was excellent. Question: Are your cars weighted and what kind of couplers & trucks do you use.? I noticed the covered hopper with a bad case of the rocks Nice job on the turbine power. Are both the cab unit and turbine powered?
Yes cars are weighted, kadees for couplers, trucks some are stock others too many to figure out lol most of the cars are either private or club owned. No dummy power is allowed on our layout. Everything has to have power. Our layout is very realistic when it comes to operations. I'll gladly shoot another video Tuesday and post it on this thread giving you more details on the power and some of our rolling stock. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Some years ago I ran a ninety car train on the Longview, Kelso & Rainier Railway. The train was long enough to almost have the power coupled to the caboose. Up front there was four locomotives A SD40T-2 (Master) a SD45 a SD40 and a U33C. Fifty five cars back was the helpers. A SD40T-2 (slave)A U30C and a SD45T-2. The train was of course powered by Southern Pacific locomotives. All Athearn locomotives The train ran for several hours and got lots of comments from visitors
This things a beast. The car rating is 175 cars on flat surface, 140 on a 2% grade. I wish some of my SP steam could do that! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Great video would be awesome to see in the flesh, my only criticism is it would look far more realistic if the rolling stock was weatherd
Alot of our rolling stock is weathered but not all. Your talking a club in existence since 1945 there is literally thousands of rolling stock pieces so much were trying to get rid of older stock. It's hard to weather everything. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
