Take a look at the following site, "Mike's Small Trackplans Page". While the largest plans he has are for door sized layouts, you can always expand a smaller layout to fit into a bigger space by adding straight track.

Unfortunately most N scale track plans are not 4x8. Living with a smaller layout(door, 3'x6', 2'x4') would probably be the easiest rout. Expanding a smaller layout to fit 4x8 would be pretty easy too. You can download some track planing software like Atlas RTS and make your own track plan.

Some other good sources for track plans

The Atlas software is good for messing around and creating plans. I've been playing with it for a few months trying to come up with an oversized door layout (around 10x3 or 8x4), and I'm nearly ready to post a couple up here....

    MontanaRL,

I would suggest you start a new thread instead of using this one about 4x8 layouts. Also, when you do start the thread please give as many details as possible. A track plan would be helpfull as well as what make of track you are using, minimum radius etc. the more details the better and there are pleanty of people here willing to help.
