I finished up a few Ztrack kits and slapped some paint on them this week. I'm not happy with the seal I used for two reasons.

One... it didn't seal the cracks at all. Might be since I went light on it.

Two it screwed with my paint and clear coat. I've never had the fogging problems I did with these.

I plan to make a few more and I'll use putty to fill the cracks next time.
Other then that, they look great to me. TIME FOR WEATHERING!!! :tb-biggrin:

Eddie you are definately on top of your game right now. I can't wait to see what your layout will look like as you have some great skills!

I can help with those too! I have built about 50 of them so far, and learned a few tricks.

There are 4 parts that can use special treatment, and that is to lightly spray the inside bulkhead ends, topside of the floor part, and both sides of the opera window part with Kilz wood sealer before assembly, then sand lightly with 400 grit or finer paper.

If you break any parts I will send you replacements free. Also, if any of the parts blatantly offend for any reason, like grain too deep, I will send free replacements.

I used to quickly go over the not so smooth side of the 1/64" plywood with 400 grit palm grip sander, but late this spring I purchased a new random orbital sander/dust collector combo, and started sanding both sides of the wood with 400 grit to eliminate wood grain showing through.

This setup has greatly improved the surface finish the kits will have, and only adds an extra 10 minutes work per 50 car kits produced.

Eddie, good job on the centerbeam. Now you have to get Robets flat cars. They are even better if thats possible. I love those opera window centerbeams.
