We're pleased to announce our newest feature, TrainBoard Groups. What are TrainBoard Groups? They are similar to Yahoo Groups or any other social networking site where users can create and manage their own groups. Unlike a forum, they don't have seperate threads but they do have ongoing discussions, photo uploading, etc. This will be a great way to gauge support for new forums, or allow people to have their own niche group here at TrainBoard. If you have questions, please ask. Charlie
Charlie Love the new features, just one question. How do I access the Groups from the main forum page? I have been getting to it from your email announcement. Thanks for making an awesome site even better! Thom
Thom- In the dark gray bar, above this Forum, where you see "My TrainBoard", "Blogs", etc, click on "Quick Links." It's in the menu there. Boxcab E50
I just made a new group on it...does that mean I would be a moderator of it?? Or is that still the admin job on the regular site??
I created a group... at least, I think I did. I clicked "Save," but it hasn't shown up. Also, what exactly do the different types of groups mean? I can figure out "Invite Only", but what's the difference between that, "Public" and "Moderated"?
What's the name of your Group? I'd say that "Public" means open posting. "Moderated" means you look at and approve posts. Boxcab E50
I can see it too, now. Strange...? EDIT: But only from directly linking to it. It doesn't show up on the main list of groups.
Bumping this topic back as I have heard from several people that they were not aware of this new feature. Charlie
Hey folks: For those who don't how to get to the TrainBoard Groups, just click on "Quick Links" and scroll down to the "Networking" section.
I started a logging themed group called "Logging Operations Fans and Modelers." I am hoping to have some company soon. Meanwhile, I will try and post links and other items of interest.
I'd never have guessed that anyone named SteamDonkey would be interested in logging! :tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin: Boxcab E50
