Jeff Johnston, the author of "The MDC Shay Handbook" just published his third edition of the book yesterday. https://forum.mrhmag.com/post/mdc-shay-handbook-update-12786098?pid=1337263564 So of course I ordered the book and both two truck and three truck shay kits I think I'll have some great kit building evenings coming up Will have to make them into Fossmills' #51 and #54 Shay's!
Make sure you get the upgrade wheels ,gears , and motor otherwise it will probably run poorly . I think Weisman has these . Mike
Thanks! For now I just bought the two kits, from Wiseman's actually. The kits are advertised as coming with a closed flat motor. As for upgrades, I'm gonna wait on reading through the Handbook first before buying anything. See, I knew about the NWSL gear upgrades, but hadn't even known about wheel upgrades. Anyway, that's what that handbook is going to help with I hope
