What? All that work and you didn't change the small cab numbers?!? (just kidding) So, was it nerve-wracking cutting on a perfectly good factory painted shell? Almost like the smell of napalm in the morning...smells like victory!

Several years ago I made an SD45T-2 by stretching a Kato SD40 frame. Taking a hacksaw to that mechanism was hard to do!!

This is a great kitbash!! I don't watch the new diesels enough to have noticed the difference, but I do like to do the very same thing and get a bunch of variations on the engines I have.

Isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip should do.

For the front: Remove the front numberboards and remove the numbers, (maybe sticking them to tape so they don't move around), dab on some black water-based paint for decal adhesion, painstakingly renumber and apply Microscale Micro-satin or flat to seal.

Mike - most excellent !! Looks great.

I've removed the Kato numberboards by pushing from the back w/ a small drill bit.
