and I figure its time for a few pictures. The bridge, which (my first try at scratch building) is not complete yet. I am putting 2 more up rights from both banks. Any way, here's my progress.
Not finished with many mountains and the upper cutting area. Plan on having it very woody. And to adjusted a few hills to be more gentle.

Quite a change from just a flat table. It will be interesting to see how you create your forest.

Looking good! it's amazing how much you've been able to fit in that tiny space!

Thanks all. I had a much, well not much (3' X 7'), bigger started layout in the same room but, the Misses likes this small one better. Go figure. This one is a 4 X 4 with the corner cut out. I even finished a 15 X 13 room (which was an unfinished attic) next to this room but, it became the new "family" room. It was going to be my "man cave train room".

Anywho. I am having allot of fun on this smaller layout, started with a plan and make changes as I see it start to come together.

I'm still out on the time period, but have some time to figure that out. Although, just finished building a water tower so, leaning towards Steam.

It looks like a fun layout to build. My 1st layout was a 3 ½ x5 with a tunnel and a bridge and I had so much fun working on it. I’m working on a little large layout now with a ton of switches and it’s not fun at all because of the mass of wires. I enjoy the scenery side of layout building so much more and I’m looking forward to seeing your progress.
    Looking Good!

Don't worry too much, but make sure you leave room for expansion. :tb-biggrin: That way you can slowly stretch out the run with more space that she won't notice.. Besides, once you get to the scenery and whatnot, she may change her mind.

She is actually getting a bit of pleasure out of this layout now that it is starting to take shape... so...... maybe someday we will talk expansion.
