I have an N-scale Overland Lehigh Valley caboose that someone made a mess of trying to weather it. It has plastic windows so I can't simply remove the paint and repaint it without removing them. Any clues how to get the windows out without messing up the end ladders, etc.?
I certainly have no idea for a brass caboose. OTOH, if it was a plastic caboose, I would still have the same problem and have to remove the end ladders to get the floor of the caboose off to get to the windows. Then strip, paint, more glass, reassemble, etc. The brass caboose may be the same.
Plastic windows? I'd dunk the whole enchilada into a jar of Lacquer Thinner and let it eat the windows out. When the stripping is finished, the brass will be clean, and the windows should have dissolved.
