Dose any one make carrying case for hon3 trains? Some thing like the white cardboard cases we all use for our ho and n scale trains. Thanks.
I cannot think of one specific to HOn3. It is possible something exists, or was done in the past. Could you adapt an HO version?
There is a company called "Spring Mills Depot" that has a basic storage box you customize with various bits of foam strips and sheets. The basic box starts at $10 but the price quickly goes up if you buy their foam for spacers and sheets for thickness. I have one I got at the Timonium show in Maryland. Not bad but not super fantastic, either.
SUrprised no one pointed to Page 4 of What's on Your Workbench! IowaRRFan has a couple of pictures of his carrying case.
i have not seen a narrow gauge specific carry case that is mass produced. would a N-scale card board carry / storage box work?? if you have a (even cheep) table saw, you can cut a sheet of thin plywood into strips for the box of a wooden carry box. i need to make a couple more for my rolling stock and power units. been in card board boxes for way too long. sorry no plans for such just built as needed. this is a old school thing. maybe when i build will do a write-up for making them? photos included? maybe i can pay a young school girl to hold the items for the photos? or would that be kiddy porn these days? .
Another thought would be the old stand by of a tackle box. The modular ones work well for that kind of application. Art Rogers Out and about remotely.. http://adventuresinmodeling.blogspot.com
