I am doing some research on the D&H line from Lanesboro to Carbondale. It was constructed by D&H but owned by the Jefferson Railroad Company. I have found some old Railroad Deeds to property in the Harmony ,Stevens Point area. What the confusion is about ? The deeds are all dated 1871 and make mention of the centerline, stone boxes and such all in place. The Lanesboro Jefferson Junction area had on October 28,1870 its first run of coal that was sent through the area to Albany NY. How could the Railroad be built without any deeds earlier than 1871 ? sugartree
