Cliff -You live just about the midst of a bunch of modellable short lines - not that far from the A&EC, the A&R, A&Y, and - the real Norfolk-Southern. That is one lot of modelling inspiration. Guess you know Bowser is/has produced he N-S Baldwins in both the old and new color schemes, but in HO.

Yeah, after a little research they were scattered around all up and down the Cape Fear River. Which is where I live. That is as far as the ships could come inland from the Atlantic ( Erwin ), so the railroads met the ships on the river.

I hope to show some railroad shots real soon when the dogs and I go for a walk after all this rain. There is one cool bridge on the N/S about 1200 feet from the house that is unreal. I have racing partners that run 700 HP motors on dirt and won't walk across it. My wife will but I have to hold her hand and she looks straight ahead like a pointer. Might be able to google it.

RS12's have a special place inmy heart...I would love to see them. I have rode behind a California and Western RS12 back in the 80's....fortunatly, #56 still lives

Stewart produced the RS-12 in HO a couple of years ago, I believe Bowser bought the molds. Think maybe I'll inquire at Bowser and see if they have any future plans. I'd definitely buy RS-12's in the Seaboard scheme. Who knows, never thought I'd see those Baldwin road switchers in the "real N-S, maybe they'd do the D&S.

Sounds like that's close to Linden?

I grew up just through the woods from the original NS' Becker spur that paralleled River Road outside of Lillington. Based on your description, it sounds like you live as close to Linden as you do to Erwin...is that correct? And which bridge are you speaking of?....I'd love to see a pic of it before I venture over for a first-hand look. Cheers, Jon
