Has anyone used the Loksound 4.0 or 3.5 XL? Im looking to drops some serious cash on a dcc system and the research i have done tells me that this is the way to go. I can control servos, have amazing sound, and control my train from my ipod or android phone via WIFI. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U42z_d99cKE Does anyone have any other comments about this?

    4 motor controller.
While LGB Moguls (early) were advertised as .6A draw, get a good load on it...
Botch big engines can draw 5 amps in full slip (saw many reviews in GR on that), and a 1.1A motor driver will do one of two things:
Shut down, or let the smoke out.
QSI's with fan cooling will do up to 10 amps, 6 amps without.
    Others will chime in shortly.
Might help to know what you're putting them into.

I've used them in several scales, mostly Z and G. Sounds are ok, but like most European decoders, whistles and chuff not great, and all the "different" American sounds are really very few and played with a bit.

Good quality electronics, poor documentation, as with most European decoders that have manuals translated from German.

Programmer hardware expensive last time I checked.

The servo outputs are cool, Zimo has them too, if you need them that limits your decoder selection.

the biggest challenge i have is that i own 25 locomotives MTH, USA Tranis, Aristocraft, Bachmann, and LGB. so i need a dcc option that will work on all those manufactures.
