I'm not sure where this would fit in ? All , What happens to be your all time Favorite Model Railroad (s ? Mine are Virginian and Ohio Allegheny Midland FRANKLIN and SOUTH MANCHESTER Tom
Probably John Allen's Gorre & Daphetid. So many other possibilities, such as the HOn30 Carrabassett & Dead River, the original V&O, and, and....
Lynn Wescotts's "Detroit, Arrg' can't remember the name I added the oval for continuous running. I feel this is the ultimate in 'beginner layouts" as the expansion options are only limited by your space. Or: 4th One Down: http://www.guidetozscale.com/html/the_dream.html Is a drawing from "101 Track Plans'.
Montreal, Vermont & Essex, a gorgeous HO scale club layout I've visited several times. It's New England from Montreal down into Vermont, including some stunning structures like depots in White River Junction etc. They're currently building a model of Montreal's Windsor station that promises to be fantastic. Their attention to detail is amazing.
I would have to say John Allens Gorre & Daphetid. I had the opportunity to have attended a number of operating sessions while I was stationed at Mare Island on instructor duty in the late 60's. George Sellios Franklin & South Manchester would be next in line. I was fortunate enough to have seen the first section years ago. Would love to see the layout now.
I can't name any specific layout I prefer, whether seen on TB, personally, at shows, or in magazines. Layouts are works of art, and I enjoy all of them.
My favorite layout would be the Logan Valley This is my ideal layout if I had the space and time to build one, the idea of running way freights to various towns on the line would give me hours of pleasure every day.
John Allens Gorre & Daphetid. He started small and grew the layout over time. I enjoy the humor in the name of the layout, and I like the other puns he scattered around the place. My own small layout is based on the plan of the original D&G. - Jeff
Hear! Hear! The G&D still ranks way up at the top. Execution, craftsmanship, operations, fine detailing and tongue firmly in cheek. In an era of very few r-t-r or box kits. Mouli and Kaustav's N scale layout in India featured here on TB. The FSM is awe inspiring as well as the original V&O. The N/Nn3 layout of Tom Knapp was a work of art, the JAD valley in a recent N-Scale article.....Ok, most any model railroad! They all have something!!!
The Cat Mt. & Santa Fe circa late 1980s. The allagheny midland, diesel era. Joe Fogate's Siskyous Line. Sent from my BNTV400 using Tapatalk
That's one which does not get anywhere near enough recognition, even as well known as it is and has been.
The Utah Belt. Modern railroading at it's finest. Reid Bros layout. N scale greatness The G&D, just cause. San Diego, both N and HO. Slim Gauge Guild in Pasadena, CA. Jeff Abbott's SP Cascade layout. Remote, real time dispatching, radios and signals from 1600+ miles and two time zones away. GEHAMS in Bakersfield and possibly the largest N scale club layout in California with hardly any operators. Bob Rivard's SOO layout. Lot's of prototype ops. There's others.....
What about Jim Reisings Oakville Sub? If you like long trains, and who don't, this layout is for you. Modern day mainline action at its finest.
