I live 'bout 200 feet from a CSX - CP Rail 8 track junction. I loved it until the TV broadcast in the USA switched to digital. Now I get signal dropout whenever a train goes by.

Let me tell you football fans, this is rifling my feathers a tad. It seems to be those big newer General Electric locos causing the problem. The ones that look like a cat.

Older engines don't cause this problem.

Anyone have any suggestions other than move or switch to cable TV?

Well the FCC regulates which broadcast frequencies are assigned to what. Being that digital TV has a set spectrum of frequencies that are set apart from say, Wi-Fi, radio, cell phone, etc.

Being that digital TV is relatively new, I think you have every right to bring this up with the FCC, CSX, CP Rail, and GE Trasnportation. Not as a lawsuit or anything, but it might be a totally fixable problem that the railroads are totally oblivious to. Ask your neighbors if they have the same problem.

Roger that. Just wondering if some sort of filter would help?

And if any one else is seeing this issue?

Newer GE's like AC models? Wow that would be weird. Could it be a magnetic field being generated? I really dont know but I guess thats a thought for you.

You can always ask the railroad to send older power past your house lol.I know how you feel, one night during a shoot out in hockey our cable went BZZZT and that was it till after the game was over.

They look 2 b GE Dash 9-44CW's. Really an awesome machine if you stop 'n watch them for a while. They almost seem to glide over the rails with no effort at all.

A lot of electronics at work there. But they are bleeding some kind of electronic field.

I wonder if it's going to produce a new form of cancer in my grand children?
