Here are a few pics of my first completed AFT car. It's showcase car #41, with the lunar rover, Freedom bell, and map of the US showing the train's route. It was fun buildng the rover. More to come.

    Bill,

Looks excellent how did you build this, did you have plans or photos of the original?

    Hi Paul:

I used a bunch of reference pictures I found on the net. There were some great closeups of this car and the other showcase car #41. It was fun to build, I made my own decals, but the stars are a bit too big, but they work. The rover was built off of a picture of one running around on the moon.

They look great. I was thinking about doing some also. what are the colors you used for the stripes. Are they standard road name colors like Soo Or B&O? what did you use for decals?

He he he , all of us who were kids in the seventies are ooooo-ing and ahhhh -ing. Over your train.

Thats cool. Are you going to do a whole train?00000000000000 (cat on keyboard lol)

I remember being really excited about the freedom train and me and my boyhood buddy were both train fans so we'd track where it was going and talk about it alot. Come to think of it, back before video games and dungeons and dragons pretty much all the boys had a train set. I never did get to see the freedom train though.

I've finished 4 more cars of the train today. Entrance car #100, lounge car #203, hospitality car #204, and observation car #205. I'm starting on two of the ten display cars. I'm thinking this is becoming an obsession to finish the whole train?

Bill, I'm not a modeler, but those are really impressive. The AFT was something special, and I think you have done it justice. Nice! [IMG]
