I just finished this guy up today. It was painted up as a PLM lease unit.(KATO SD40) It didn't fit in well with my fleet, so I decided to strip it and repaint it into something nice. I added the front detail including the cut lever, plow, mu cables, and air hose. The grab irons on the plow were also added. I added a cab-signal box which required re-locating the grab irons to the firemans side of the short hood. The paint is Accuflex B&M blue, decals are microscale, and flat finish is Pollyscale. All weathering was done with an air brush. (I still need to replace the KD #5 with a KD #58, then I'll be happy)

    Very nice.

    Is it a Kato?

That's a fantastic job there, Bob, looks realistic with the weathering. Nice railroad too, the pic location is great with the lit up signals and all. Very nice job. [IMG]

Excellent model Bob would love to see some stage shots of the loco, do you have any pics of the original paint scheme?

Note the difference in color under different types of light.
