If this unit is part of CPKC, then it's possible these are ex-MILW rails. Can you imagine trying to explain the progression of not only this unit's life, but also all the various rail company ownerships, right here in this spot, since the fifties?

Nothing feels as good as those old side wall heaters, when you get back in the cab after a few hours of freezing your azz doing trainmans stuff. I used to tell my conductor, I turned up his side wall heater for him. Usually followed with some not so flattering comments about some of my family.
