I'll be darned...I didn't realize there were still operating railroads on Hawaii. I thought they were only on sugar plantations, and all long gone years ago......:tb-shocked:
WINNER!!!!!!! Congratulations! DRGWTennPass Honolulu, Hawaii Location submitted by Stourbridge Lion
Way to go, Ray!! Hawaii was not the first, second, or even third place that I would of thought of. This is the Hawaiian Railway Society, train ride, museum and display. http://www.hawaiianrailway.com/ Dan
I have GEA-002 picked but will hold off starting Google Earth Advanced #002 it until I have the access to post larger images like Scott was doing. Don't worry, it won't give Scott any advantages as I will only upload images as they are posted so he won't see them any sooner than you do.
I had this spot on my list for awhile, holding it for #100 since I thought no one would think I would pick a spot in the US and figured Hawaii would be way off everyones radar to boot. Hope you all enjoy this one, I know I enjoyed reading what you thought it was or wasn't throughout the hunt. Like Scott, it's great to see more and more folks join in on the hunt from around the world. Who knowns, that next spot might be right in your area of the world and you will post the solution before anyone else has a shot. :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin:
It just looked like sugar cane, but I couldn't make the connection. I thought Hawaii was devoid of any working railroads anymore. Good puzzle!
Last night I tried to screen copy a Mapquest aerial view that I had called up, complete with streets labeled and RR identified. It wouldn't let me copy it. I intended to start a new thread "Google Earth for DUMMIES." Foiled again. :tb-biggrin:
