Has anyone successful used an N scale version of the caboose industries power routing ground throw for a z scale fast track turnout. I have a test loop and am looking for something simple to control the turnout. Thanks
I have never used one myself, but I think they would work, because the amount of throw that an N Scale turnout has is not much more than a Z Scale turnout. So if you solder the fast tracks points a bit closer together than normal, you can have the same amount of gap as an N Scale turnout, and use the switch for power routing to the points.
When I had my first layout I used marklin track and I removed the boxes. I never could find a good throw. I have the caboose hobbies n-scale throw but they were soooo huge. Made the box look almost better. What I did was put AMI instant roadbed inbedded it around the throw and used a jewlers screwdriver to turn the points. It worked very well as the AMI roadbed is tacky. I never had a probelm with it.
I have no experience with these ground throws but is there any way to limit the excursion of the throw itself instead of increasing the separation on the point?
