I actually use screen door latches, in addition to the multiconnectors. Three sliding bolt type latches locate the sections so they don't slide in relation to each other, and two hook type latches hold them snug to each other. If you pay twenty dollars for all five latches, you shopped in the wrong hardware store. If you solder your rail connections, don't do it where the sections meet.

Consider it a favor returned. My wife and I had a blast in 2004 when we visited our son when he worked for British Gas in Reading and lived nearby. We rode on every mode of transportation available except a double-decker. My best joy was our visit to the Didcot Center where I rode the footplate of.... This is my son on the footplate..... What was more amazing was that the driver and his wife, the "fireman" visible in the forward window, had just returned from visiting their son in New Orleans, less than 100 miles from our home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Be VERY careful, you NEVER know who might be watching....
Hi Eagle2, keep stating the obvious! I have it working fine now. I eventually downloaded the manual and read it... Being new to this it never occurred to me that you had to turn on the prime mover sound! Other locos I bought ran with sound out of the box... the Rapido needed me to select F8. regards.
