The layout tour featuring Werner Brandt’s HO scale Gateway to the Sunset Route layout has been cancelled.

This layout tour was to be held in conjunction with the Banning (CA) Centennial Train Festival on October 19 & 20. All other Train Festival activities will take place as scheduled, including operating modular railroads, a children’s train ride, a railroad swap meet (Saturday only), hobby clinics, a model contest with displays, and information booths/exhibits featuring contemporary railroading, railroad history, model railroading and current public transit developments.

FYI, not to be confused with Bob's plans (Layout Tour) in Banning as we fully support the Banning Centennial Train Festival. Most of the guys up here plan on showing up for the swap meet on Saturday. They were hoping to see the layout as advertised by Bob, and find the above information disappointing. Non-the less, undeterred WE hope to see you there.

Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m., in the San Bernardino Mountains above the Banning Community, the Bear Valley Model Railroaders will be hosting a Open House - Layout Tour. Here is a link to the essential information. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine...Valley-Model-Railroaders-Announces&highlight= See pg. 2 for our address's.

For the Free Mo Group: See John Paulson's post and click Spidge for photos or N-land Pacific FreemoN, for details. OR: http://www.nlandpacific.com/home.html

Although rumors of an early winter abound and snow has been predicted all weather reports for said weekend, are to the contrary.

Be adventurous and participate in the fun.

Regarding the Big Bear Event: We want to remind everyone, this is not a public event, the invitation is extended to model railroaders, their friends and family ONLY!. Proper model railroad etiquette must be observed, "Keep your hands off the layout". Unless, you are given permission by the owner to run a train, rerail a train car or assist with security.

Summary: The Open House involving the FreeMo Group, the Banning Train Festival and activities planned by Bob C., and our Big Bear Valley, Model Railroad Open House-Layout Tour.

Get off your duff, away from the football games, throw the family and friends in the car and get out of the house to take in some great model railroad railfanning.

    Looking forward to your visit.

Do I really have to tell you Octoberfest, is in full swing up here in Big Bear. Gosh, what a community won't do to attract visitors LOL>:teeth:

Hopefully it was caused by nothing serious, and the tour can be rescheduled.
