Hello All, I am glad I discovered TrainBoard and I am looking forward to sharing and receiving feedback on this build. This is my preliminary plan using Rokuhan Z-scale track in RailModeller Pro. My plan is to concentrate on the scenery and build all structures from scratch.
Hi Gatorpharmd, welcome to Trainboard! Z Scale children are so tiny, that they can get lost even if the pine forest only has 1 tree! It looks like a fun small layout, please post pictures of your progress.
Welcome aboard, Tony. This should be interesting. Robert Ray recently posted a thread that featured the Rokuhan roundhouse. He made some improvements to it that you may be interested in. I can't wait to see what you scratch build. Best to you. Jim
That is the end of a runway, yes, my plan is to add a small plane, perhaps an Airbus A319 or A320 that have shorter wingspans, I have found Z-scale versions of them.
Thank you for the warm welcome and information about Robert Ray's thread on the Rokuhan roundhouse, that will be very helpful.
Here is the link to the thread I posted my Rokuhan Turntable experiences in: https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?posts/1113630/ Here is the link to my T-Trak Z module build, where I modify the turntable a couple times to get it the way I want it: https://www.trainboard.com/highball...lester-wa-t-trak-z-module-set-project.129952/
Welcome from me too! Hate you bought the plane. I started with one. The month there wasn't a loco or car that I was interested in, I started collecting American Airlines. Anyway, best of luck with the great plan RoryBlake
Hi Rory and Kurt, thank you for the warm welcome. I purchased an Air France A319 because it has a shorter length and wingspan compared to other aircraft (and I have a home in France )
That is a cool looking model. May have to look into getting one of those since I flew on an Air France A319 from St Petersburg Russia to Paris.
Ahh! Hello Tony, these look like the ones I saw in Relay in Orly on the many travels through this airport. They were away from the toy section. Yes, I too was looking for the N scale size which they didn't have. But I saw some that were more to the Z scale size instead. Good luck on your build! This looks like an exciting project.
Thank you, who does not stop at Relay . I am expecting the track, a couple of the locomotives and rolling stock, styrofoam sheets, and some of the basic building materials this week.
Why do I get the impression you will have this up and running in no time? Keep us posted. Ask questions. Have fun. Jim
Good afternoon, I hope you are taking care of yourselves and your families. I have received the Rokuhan track, and I am brainstorming about the color and weathering for it. I have noticed that the trend is to use a dark brown color such as the Vallejo Model Air dark brown 71.042 because modeling may be related to older railroad eras. Across the street from my apartment in Saint-Germain they are currently laying track for the new Tram13 that will connect Saint-Germain and Saint-Cyr ZAC (Versailles), and of course, they are using the concrete slab technology. I want to paint the Rokuhan track in a similar cement color, such as the Vallejo Model Air cement grey 71.045 and then slightly weather it. Advice and best practices related to wanting more modern paint colors will be appreciated.
