In building a small, industrial shelf layout, I have been searching for a source of flat, or limited 3D buildings. This firm appears to make exactly what I am looking for... www.kingmill.com Has anyone used these, or seen them in person to recommend them? I am in N-scale, and I'd love some dimensions too (which are sadly lacking from their site). Thanks!
Er, that link goes to a holiday resort. You need to lose the 's'; ie. http://www.kingmill.com I'm afraid I hate paper buildings. Never seen one that didn't look like exactly that. Sorry, just my opinion
Thanks! Fixed! www.kingmill.com I am not a big fan of paper buildings myself, but this is a SMALL (18" x 34") shelf layout... more a shunting puzzle than anything else. So these would be more of a background than anything else...
Sorry to have broken a rule. Just wanted opinions on the product. Not sure how else to reference them...
I know, and we don't like the rule either but I'm afraid it is a necessary evil they way things have gone in the past. Charlie
Nice product Thanks for the tip, I bought a couple after reading this thread. This one took me about two minutes to cut out and only cost $5.00. Kingmill Radical Flats - Jefferson St. I ordered 3 buildings in all, maybe I'll get some more.
Two minutes to cut out and place???...sounds like the perfect idea! thanks for the link! they look darn good.
Commerce Street Commerce Street comes as two sections. I cut them out and mounted them on 3/16" foam core.
Jefferson Street Jefferson Street comes with 1" wide side walls, but I left them off and just cut the facade to fit on 3/16" foam core. And all of my Radical Flats buildings in mock-ups. Commerce Street 1 & Jefferson Street 1 Commerce Street 2 & Jefferson Street 2 It's nice to have this product as an inexpensive option for highly detailed background buildings. Nice product.
I've been making extensive use of these on the JACALAR They are only temporarily placed... I think these two will go in this position, but they aren't fixed yet. I plan to put some of the "reduced N scale" flats on the window, for depth And these three flats are also RadicalFlats
