Just got back from our summer holiday to the UK. We took the overnight ferry from IJmuiden, Netherlands, to Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I would like to share some nice train photos I took; maybe an inspiration for Kev, next project in Z...? There's a historic train running from Fort William to Mallaig that you can ride on. It passes through magnificent highlands and along the beautiful Scottish west coast. It also crosses the Glenfinnan viaduct, well known from the Harry Potter movies. The surrounding scenery is amazing as well, by the way. Well worth the trip. Picture below is from the same location of the first photos, I just turned around 180 degrees. The train ends at the small port of Mallaig, from where it returns later on. A close up of the carriage, we just missed Harry and his friends Cheers, Matt
