I haven't found this information anywhere else using the thread search function. If it does exist somewhere, I apologize for starting a new thread and would appreciate being told where it is.

I want to convert my N-scale locomotives to use LED lights. I am able to make constant-lighting circuits and mount them where they will fit - different for each locomotive. I plan to use small pieces of fiber optic cable to "pipe" the light sources to the lenses. Has anyone else done this, and if so, what kinds of challenges did you encounter?

I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences and guidance. You folks are a great asset to our hobby!

    Best regards,:tb-biggrin:

Interesting timing as I was just looking up a thread I started on this subject a little while ago on the Atlas forum....

Atlas Model Railroad Co. - Do-It-Yourself Loco Lighting?

Scroll down for a link to a couple of circuit diagrams; one for single headlight and one for bi-directional. Today I'm messing around with trying to do this myself, so I can't speak from experience quite yet.

I hope this is what you were looking for and not something on the installation of fiber optics.
