I've just finished wiring a small control panel for Kato turnouts. I used DPDT Momentary switches "chained" to a 12VDC "WART". Does anyone have a simple circuit where I can add bipolar LEDs at the switch (not turnout) location to indicate the turnout position? I did a search on this forum some time back on this topic but can't find it again.
    Thanks for any ideas!

    George,

I would highly recommend that you try the BCD circuit that Ray Stillwell developed. I've been in Model Railroading for 60 years now and have never found a better control circuit.
Ray gives it away for an E-mail. My years of work in electronics makes me very hesitant to use a momentary switch on a solenoid switch machine. Burn outs on twin coil systems are common from not releasing quick enough. That's the main reason the CD systems were developed.
Ray's circuit cures this problem and adds the indicator at the same time. I use bi-polar LED's to indicate switch position, although the handles of the toggles point the way, as well.
