I'm considering doing a historic photo story that needs an N-scale SP 2-10-2 for accuracy. I'm pretty sure that 20 or so years ago, someone was importing such a brass "decopod" for a very short time. I can't remember who. Does anyone have one? Scott
ConCor did a 2-10-2 a few years back. I'm not sure if they did an SP version or not, or if you'll be able to find one anywhere, but it probably won't be any harder than finding a brass one, and it'll be cheaper.
Hallmark did a USRA light 2-10-2 in brass. For something other than a 2-10-2 but still SP Key made a very nice SP MT-4 and -5 series mountain with and without the skyline casing. Mark
Hi Scott, Around 1993-94, Key Imports put out an announcement and was taking reservations for 4 versions of SP's 2-10-2 (aka "Deck"). N scale brass was kind of on the way out by that time. Hence, the reservations were never sufficient for a production run. If you go on the Caboose Hobbies site, one reservation is still there.Key did bring in a Pennsy Decapod 2-10-0 (I believe), however they are no way similar. For the record, Jason (Superturbine) "nailed it" with his SP F-3 "Deck"....
