I tried to order a left hand #8 Micro Engineering turnout today from Walthers but they are out of stock, I looked in a few other places but couldn't find the #8. Anybody know of any ME dealers that might have one? [ 16. February 2005, 00:59: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]
Don, ME supplies have been irregular for quite a while. I'd try some of the n-scale specialists like Wig-Wag or Feather River or some of the large stores like M.B. woo woo woo or Caboose Hobbies. They may be able to locate a supply. Spotty supply was one reason I crossed ME off my supplier list about 3 years ago. It hasn't gotten any better.
Able hobby in washington is where I got my bridge parts, and no one else had them. They might have turnouts too . . they can be found through a search engine.
I thought that Micro Engineering only made No. 6 turnouts. They are made in Code 70 and Code 55. That might be why you can't find No. 8's.
The track is readily available from Internettrains.com, as of the past month at least. I just ordered 6 C55 3' sections, 6 c40 3' sections and 2 c55 bridge track c55 sections, and all showed up. Large quantities might be different though, but if all you need is a few scale miles, there is a good chance they have enough.
No luck so far. Thanks guys. Walther's has them listed on page 124 (2004) Z&N catalog. Product # 255-15505 Here's a link to the web page
I ordered a #12 LH turnout from Mythman (edmodels) so I won't be chasing that M.E. switch after all. Thanks.
