03 April 08 MTH'S 2008 Volume II will be released on 13 April - next week / Anyone have any hopes or desires for items to be in the catalog? For me, I would like to have the Seaboard Air Line SDP35's and or the Atlantic Coast Line SD35's issued in the Primier Line. One thing for sure, I will go through the catalog - page to page, enjoying each page, returning to list my desires versus my needs. Larry @ SCRS.
Larry, What is the difference between MTH and AtlasO SD35's? Didn't Atlas do the SAL SDP35 a while back? As to MTH's new catalog, I'll wait to see it on line. I'm sure there are scads of things that will tempt my wallet but I'll just have to be strong. Greg
9 April 08 Greg. Yes. Atlas did issue a SAL SDP35 and a very good locomotive it is, however Atlas uses the Lionel built TMCC system and MTH has DCS. At of now I still operate in conventional mode, with hopes to go with DCS within the next year or two. DCS does operate everything, but will require an additional piece of control unit to operate the TMCC. Outside of that reason, the budget still rules and the 'Selected Selection' rule on the SCRS keeps MTH primier engines as it motive power. Larry @ SCRS
Larry, Makes perfect sense to me. I got into DCC on the cheap but currently my 2-rail equipment is all old school, DC. I understand the budget, budget committee and higher authority of household. Greg
21 APRIL 2008 No SD35's in ACL, nor SDP35's in SAL. Perhaps next time, however the general store and the country station could end up on the SCRS. Larry @ SCRS
20 May 2008 From the MTH 2008 V2 catalog, the general store, the Shell station and the country station are on pre-order. Some paint detailing on the station to match the SCRS layout paint colors will be needed. The others should fit in as they are. From the MTH 2008 V1 catalog, the ACL baggage / coach and the ACL RPO should be arriving next month. Larry @ SCRS
