So I have started building my new layout. Tell me what you think. This is where I'm at right now. Now there will be two loadouts for me to work on my branch line. The idea is to bring my loaded hoppers to the siding and pick up my empties to run them back to my loadouts. The end of the branch will be elevated.
Looks like all branch line moves will be shoves. Does the sofa roll out of the way, for operating sessions?
I am able to move the sofa. And all my moves will be shoves for now. I'll attempt adding in switch backs so I can straight pull my hoppers and then shove them to spot them under my load outs.
Plenty of places where shoving moves are necessary in real life, so shoving moves are quite prototypical. What's the radius of that inside track, by the way?
Looks good. I have a similar size HO layout in a small middle room, got a wild hair one day and just started building. It's taken over the whole room now with just enough left over to move around and storage underneath. Most of it came from a layout I did at age 15 or so. Put it up in my college days and got it back out 20 years almost to the day later. You'll get a lot of fun from this. Rick H.
