A new, very improved Raspberry Pi is now available. Here is their announcement with specs and comparisons. https://www.raspberrypi.org/magpi/raspberry-pi-4-specs-benchmarks/
@Doorgunnerjgs My day dream is to place one in a boxcar and run my Shinkasen point to point with computer control. I hope a 20/30 something will pick one up and create a library of commands / functions along with plug and play wiring system.
I have an R-Pi 4b running my N scale trains via a Pi SPROG 3 hat, with JMRI. Best thing since butter met bread!
Authorized dealers have had to hold their prices, but the unauthorized resellers are making hay... Now that 64 bit Raspberry Pi OS is fully supported on the 4b and 400, I wonder how long it will be before we have Steve Todd's image for that. I've seen independent benchmarks that indicate quite a jump in performance from 32b to 64b Raspberry Pi OS. Note the Raspberry Pi 400 (electronics for a 4b 4GB, packaged inside a keyboard, more $) is available at some official retailers. So if you don't care about form factor (the 400 has the same expansion port as the 4b too), the 400 is an available option.
