I finally placed an order for NWSL wheelsets for some locomotives. I ordered enough to do 5 units so i'll keep everyone updated on how they are... Knowing NWSL they should be excellent though. Now what am i gonna do with all my other painted and some weathered 'useless' wheelsets?!?!
You could load them into old,beat-up gondolas or flatcars and put the cars on a sidetrack near to the engine house, or maintainence facility. ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/wv/appalachianatlantic/images/theappalachian&atlantic.html

They look too unrealistic to have around on a layout with scale size wheels rolling around... I don't know about giving them away though... I've got hundreds of em and i would like to recoup some of my initial investment! And those NWSL wheels are $$$$! All the 33"s are Kadee. Some 36" are Kadee as well but the rest are P2K... Oh i forgot to mention that the best truck for the NWSL wheels was the Accurail Barber S2. The axle is snug but still can roll like greased oil! There's almost no sideplay whatsoever and the extra .053( ) width spacing due to the truck being a little wide is neglible. And the truck has quite nice detail. I sure wish Kadee would offer a more reasonable priced wheelset! I think it's time to bug them again.
I have a small set of leftover wheels siting outside my yard ------------------ Theres no such thing as having to many coal hoppers or GP40-2 when you model Chessie System LONG LIVE THE KITTEN!!! LONG LIVE BIG BLUE!!! I looked at DCC... and stayed DC!
Hey Tunnel, how much are the wheelsets to you? I may be interested......and oh yes, I'm an avid HO scaler. Holler at me offlist- I'm on the other side of the hill over here in Grand Junction. ------------------ Ship IT on the Frisco! Bob T. http://hometown.aol.com/slsf1630/myhomepage/profile.html
Gee Bob, i really don't know... I haven't really put much thought into how i'm gonna get rid of em but i probably will have to. I think what i'll do is take an inventory of the total axle count and see how many i've actually got. I'll try do this in the next few days or so.
