I was greeted with two surprises when I arrived home. 1. Nov-Dec N Scale Magazine (not three months after it should have arrived, but on time) 2. A SPREAD, INCLUDING THE COVER, BY PETE NOLAN. Great work. You are my hero.
Congratulations, Pete! Getting a cover is really special, IMHO. I have had some things published, but I don't think my camera will take a picture fine enough for a cover. (I wouldn't know how to do it anyway!)
Dang, I wish my LHS would start carrying NSM again, 'cause he's the only LHS left within 100 miles. Hundeman burned him so badly, he won't deal with NSM regardless who owns it.
Best of luck to the new owner of the magazine! I just hope Pete Nolan doesn't get a papercut opening his copy. Really, I should hope I don't cut myself to ribbons opening my copy.
Way to go Pete. First time in the model railroad press and you go right to the cover. Cool. Its been a long time coming.
Yes, it has been very, very long time coming. Please realize that, for the past ten years, I 've been writing government stuff that you will never see. OK, you can see some of my work for Sandia National Labs at :http://www.sandia.gov/news/publications/annual/index.html I didn't do the last one there, as I was off on another project at the time. Wait 'til you see the next projects!
Congradulations Pete, Appears the train gods are looking out for you. Nice cover and story. Keep it coming.
Pete, When I read the first line of your post on trainboard live I knew without looking that this would be the image they had chosen. It has always been a fantastic shot if I recall you always used it as the heading on your old Rail Images Album
Paul, That was a long time ago, in a universe far away . . . I thought I used this one as the lead to my old Railimages album.
