In old communism times many things and properties were guarded ! Sometimes one can not find the real reason for that ! In case od sand excavation there might be some: - to protect against illegal excavation for private purposes - to protect some equipment - to protect people not to have accident in dangerous place .... One of German colleagues suggested that it might be a good idea to use this sand excavation as a temporary military camp or practice area as well.
I like the concrete road. I have driven a few roads in Poland, and one sticks out in my mind as rough for the gaps in the concrete; yours looks pretty life-like! I would add some more small weeds in the cracks. A beer sounds delicious! I would suggest Okocim porter. That stuff is blacker than Lord Voldemort's heart.
Looks good! I wonder what's in his lunchbox? Leftover gołąbki and pierogi? Maybe some canned plums? I'm making myself seriously hungry now...
I think pierogi but it is also possible that he has bigos ... To make his journey to work more safer I added proper signage in the place where the road is crossing railways. St. Andrews crosses for trucks and W9 signs for trains (reduce speed). There is also W9 sign in front of road crossing. This is warning sign - "20km/hour ahead".
It just keeps on getting better..... My last time in northwest Poland, I had to take a photo of the road warning signs placed in advance of the crossings. I suppose these are way too new for your era, no?
Those signs were used many years ago as well. Thanks for suggestion. I will have it installed as well. In a meantime I got my Russian origin ZIL 130 trucks for sand transportation:

Hi Pawel, very nice. I have two questions: - is that a MAN by Etch-It in the sand pit? What are they like? - how do you make the electricity poles? Etched, or 3-D printed..? Merry Christmas everybody. Matt
Some small items are beeing finished including: I placed milage signs. The view from km 12.7: MAN is Etch-it model as you suggested. I like the model. There are no windows in the cab. Side windows I made using Humbrol Clear Fix. The problem is with the front window. It was to big to make it using this product (or my technique is not good enough). Electricity poles are etched. I still have some of that type which are carton laser cut.
Electricity work - wooden poles with lamps were installed next to two buildings. A also added some stones - side effect of sand excavation
