Just curious if anyone has tried to put the RP SD60M shell on an Athearn Genesis power frame. If so, how much fidgeting is there to make it fit... Part of me wants to believe the Genesis shell is a retooled RP shell and the fit would be close, but I have nothing to base that on. Thx for any info' Lyle D
Which Genesis frame are you trying to install it on? A SD60 frame? It may be possible, but honestly, what is the benefit? Why buy a Genesis SD60M just to take the shell off and put a different one on? The Railpower shell is a downgrade, and will take a lot of investment in detail parts and accessories to get it back up to modern standards. It just seems like a money pit project considering the end product already exists as an RTR model. If you want to kitbash, just modify the Genesis shell to begin with.
