I know many of you are interested in historical preservation in addition to modeling. Attached is a photo of my GM&O SD40X #950. Built by EMD on a SD35 frame, this was the prototype pre-production SD40 that demonstrated on railroads all over North America and paved the way for EMD's SD40 and SD40-2 lines later.

Fortunately, CN donated it as IC 6071 to the Monticello Railway Museum in Illinois for preservation. The museum is trying to decide what paint scheme to restore it into (EMD demo, GM&O red, ICG, or IC deathstar black). I would love to see it in the GM&O red/white. If you folks agree, please consider emailing the MRM to let them know you'd like to see it as a GM&O redbird as well!

    Thanks!
