Just a little rant - I've been looking for these on "that auction site" for quite a while, and I have to say it's nutty. The going rate is 17.99 for a new replacement pair. By that I mean plastic with plastic wheel sets that will need to be replaced with metal.
Occasionally a mixed lot will come up and the prices skyrocket through the roof of common sense.
On the other hand, 4-wheel passenger trucks are everywhere. A real buyers market.
I have some nice heavyweight rivarossi passenger cars I picked up for next to nothing at a flea market (sans trucks of course!) thinking I could bring them up to speed rather cheaply. "WRONG".
Is there some evil empire cornering the market on rivarossi 6-whell passenger trucks? :we2-policeman:

I have always found their plastic side frames to be too soft allowing the metal axles to erode right through the top of the side frames. Even with moderate running. For that price, trucks plus new wheel sets, I would try to find some of the Walthers heavyweight trucks. They seem to be more durable. The old Athern heavyweight trucks are very tough but it takes a little work to adapt them to the Rivarossi cars.

I've had good results with the rivarossi plastic sideframes and Kadee 36" wheels. Of course they haven't had train-show type run time on them, but I've not noticed any erosion issues. I'll give the Walthers trucks a look though.
