1900-1981, EMD GP60, 1900-1902 ex-DRGW, rest sre ex SP/SSW, 1944, 1954, and 1970 numbers vacant. 2003, 2005-2098 GP60, all are ex-SP/SSW
GP-60s are regular power for the local out of Roseville. The as you'll see in the weekend proto fun of a few weeks ago, GP40-2s of various heritages are also regulars.
Are you guys seeing something I'm not? I dodn't see anything unique on either unit. I just drove past them in the yard and the only difference is that one is an early GP60 with the traditional shaped extended range Dynamics and the other is a later (typical) phase with the boxier dynamics.
I had never seen a traditional d/b blister on a gp60 until now. I was used to spotting the later variant.
I was at the Railroad Hobbies today in Roseville. Is it me, or are those not the least helpful guys on earth? I want to like them so badly too. I've recently got back into model railroading and I let them know that. And that I'm prepared to spend money, but I would like to talk shop and pick their brains a bit. I could barely get a word in before they'd just walk away from me. I was thinking, I can certainly shop online and save a substantial amount of money, but I'd rather support the LHS. Today's visit was strike two with them, one more and I'm done. I still probably go, but only in certain circumstances. Even with their rude attitudes, I spent about $100 on Woodland Scenics landscape stuff. No "thanks" no "have a nice day" and certainly no "happy Easter!" /rant
Noah, it doesn't sound like that LHS is interested in staying in business. Liked your shots of the hybrids you found at Roseville, and I for sure will wish you a Happy Easter.
Yah the few times I've been in there, they haven't helped me much either! But I am into N scale and it seems that most of the staff in there don't know much about it? Plus their lack of enthusiasm to help sucks... But I'll still go there when I am in town and throw a few bucks their way. It's nice to have a ( kinda local about an hour and twenty min drive ) LHS. I'd sit and watch the Roseville yard more if it wasn't such a $&@//- area. I usually have my 5 yr old with me and after 15 min she is done...
Who did you talk to? I like Railroad Hobbies well enough. Don't order something through them though. They have decent prices and good selection. Some of the guys working there are better than others. My wife has gotten personal service. Of course, I'm in HO.
I talked to two older guys that didn't give me the time of day. The younger guy was a little more helpful. I didn't get any names, and there wasn't more than two other patrons in the store so they weren't busy. But as I said I'll go back because I like to look and touch things before I buy stuff.
